DeLaval Cow cooling
DeLaval Cow Cooling System provides a cost-effective way to reduce the impact of heat stress and helps keep milk production and fertility rates up. The system uses highly effective cooling fans and if needed can be complemented with water sprinklers for direct cooling of the cows. VMS cow cooling is specially adapted to be used with milking robots.

Efficient cooling
Sprinklers disperse large water droplets directly on to the cows coats. This is followed by directed fast flowing air from the unique cooling fans, ensuring the cow is cooled in fastest possible way.

As our own design, the DeLaval dairy fan DDF has uniquely developed fan blades and frame ensuring a high airflow and log throw. This way you need less fans and use less energy for an excellent cooling result.

VMS cow cooling
Motion sensors at the feed table and waiting yard at the VMS are connected to the DeLaval barn system controller BSC. When entering the feed table or going to the VMS milking robot the cow automatically gets cooled.

Low energy and water consumption
Thanks to motion sensors you can save up to 25% on water consumption and electricity. The cooling cycles only starts when the cow enters the cooling area. With several zones you can be sure the water is used where it is most needed, on the cows coats. With frequency controlled fans the speed adapts according to the climate.

Fully automated
The cow cooling system works according to THI (Temperature and humidity index) or only temperature. You can choose the level of automation from fully automated all year round to semi automated or manual systems. During hot periods cooling is combined with sprinklers. At autumn and spring the fans run slower adapting to the cow need. In winter the fans can run on low speed to support air circulation better and lower humidity.
